Recuerdos

You are my sunshine my only sunshine you make me happy when skies are gray. You'll never know dear how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away.

The sweetest and kindest soul, Mary Sell Morse, departed earth on April 1, 2025.

Mary was born April 19, 1968, in Findlay, Ohio. Named after her grandmother, Mary Sell, she was the youngest of three daughters and was preceded in death by her father, Oliver Martin "Marty" Sell, and her mother, Sharon Duncan Sell. In the mid 70's, the family relocated to Houston, Texas, where Mary attended the Briarwood School.

Mary was a loving, kind and patient caregiver. She lovingly took care of her mom, Sharon with ALS and her grandparents Juanita and Charlie as they aged.

Mary possessed a chidlike temperament and could play with young children for hours without getting bored. Her favorite color was purple — purple shoes, purple bags, purple clothes, even purple hair. She found joy in collecting clowns and delighted in getting dressed up for holidays, in particular St. Patrick's Day (her beloved Gammy's birthday) and the 4th of July; she'd go all out and accessorize her costumes with holiday hats and swag.

Nothing made Mary happier than her time with friends and family. On Mary’s 18th birthday all three sisters attended a concert by The Judy's, dancing and singing the night away to "Washarama." Mary also loved spending time with her bestie Mary Tucknott. A great weekend for Mary would be going to Mary T's house to watch a scary movie with popcorn.

The beach was Mary's happy place. She treasured trips to Galveston with Mary T and to Surfside with her husband Billie. One of Mary's most cherished memories was vacationing with her sister Sheila on the beaches of Cancun, Mexico. Another classic memory was when Mary and her big sisters took a road trip to the beach and sang "Hit the Road Jack" at the top of their lungs.

And her hugs. No one could escape Mary's hugs. If you were having a bad day, nothing would make you feel better than a hug from Mary. Mary loved with joy and an open heart with no judgement.

Mary is survived by her husband of thirty years, Billie Morse Jr. and his parents Andrea Morse and Billie Morse Sr. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Sheila Sell and Susan Sell Garrett, niece Olivia Garrett and many other cousins and friends. Mary is also survived by her family of choice, her bestie Mary Tucknott and Jim Harson.

Memorials may be made to legendsofthepaws.com animal rescue or alsinwonderland.org - a charity that provides direct support to people with ALS.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
